Emir of Qatar and the President of Bulgaria visited BFU National Center

The Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Tani and the President of the Republic of Rumen Radev were guests at the President of the Bulgarian Football Union Borislav Mihailov at the Boyana National Football Center.


During the visit the first steps of the future cooperation between the football federations of Bulgaria and Qatar were done, which was warm welcomed by the country's President Rumen Radev.


President Mihailov showed to his high-profile guests the administrative building of the Bulgarian Football Union, the football fields, the hotel part, the fitness center and all the facilities.

"It is a great honor for us to start such cooperation with a country that supports so strongly the development of sport and football in particular, and I am delighted that the Emir has been impressed by our Center which can ensure excellent stay for teams from Qatar" President Mihailov said.

The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, took a tour in the city of Sofia during which His Highness was briefed on the most important historical, cultural and heritage landmarks of the city.

Following the tour, during which the Emir received an explanation on the City's developments in various fields as well as future projects, the Emir and President Radev visited Bulgaria's National History Museum, where His Highness was briefed on the most important milestones in the history of Sofia, Bulgaria and the Balkans in general, and viewed various antiquities, old coins, maps and paintings exhibited in the museum.
